Food review: Across The Road, Bangsar

Happy Friday bunnies!

*On air*
What's up what's up? It's Foodie Thursday again hooray! More and more "gourmet post" will be coming your way, only in Jessica dash Chaw dot com. Thank you for listening to Jessica.fm and I am your DJ of the day - Jessica Chaw.

Ok end of introduction! Let's roll back to our main topic of this blog entry! :P

Mentioned clearly enough in the title, this is going to be a food review; or in other words, I will be posting lots of food photographs which will definitely make you drool all over your screen hoho.

Warning: Do not read this post when you are hungry. It will only make you hungrier.

So I was invited by VibeHero to attend a food-tasting session with several bloggers in Across The Road at night. I'm not sure whether you have heard of this awesome restaurant which is a part of the foodie-paradise - Bangsar. I would strongly recommend you to visit this restaurant and of course, I'll be sharing the reasons that you should give this place a shot! So, keep reading! ;)

The interior of the restaurant was neat and calming, installed with burnished wooden furniture and walls of vintage prints.

With my buddy Elaine! :)

Selca while waiting for everyone to arrive. By the way, I am already known as the Selca Queen among them, haha! :P

After brief moments of chit-chat, here begins the goodie foodie! Getting the ball rolling, here comes the abstinence-breaching appetizers!

The first appetizer we had was the Caramelized Onion and Goats Cheese Tartlets.
They look cute, don't they? And trust me when I say it: they taste super, super good! The toasted Italian bread is really crunchy, the toppings are so indescribably tasty, and only to give it an ultimate finish, the tart is enchanted with a hint of magical buttery sauce! It's almost paradise.

Important instructions: Pick it up with your hand, open your mouth, gobble it up.

Second starter: Mushroom and Tomato Bruschetta
This is really a perfect starter to lure the inner gourmet out of one's hidden carapace. The cheese goes super well by the shoulders of the toasted bread and the mushroom. Can't stop yearning for more!!

I know what you are thinking: ONLY A PRAWN DUMPLING?? THAT'S IT????

Err nope! It's more than that.

CIMG0303
"Oooo, what are they doing? Pouring some sauce so that the prawn dumpling can swim?"

Wtf I'm laughing at my own silly joke please laugh with me x)

CIMG0304
*jeng jeng* Let me present to you the Salmon Broth with Prawn Dumpling, Chives and Caviar. The salmon broth tastes so heavenly I think I can swallow an entire bowl of it! As for the prawn dumpling, it tastes like the ones you can find in Chinese Dim Sum somehow.

Beef Roll Salad with Balsamic
I supposed it is yet another impressive dish but sadly, I couldn't take beef. :(

CIMG0308Homemade Chicken with Mushroom Ravioli.
I didn't know it was chicken at first: the texture is so smooth and the chicken literally melts into some really delicious lava whenever a chunk is sent into my mouth!

Homemade Vegetable Lasagna.
The tomato cheese makes the dishes really savory!

Cheese stuffed Beef Burger with Chunky Chips
Another dish which I couldn't lay a finger on...T_T

I missed out two delectable beef dishes already so I'm surely not going to miss this appealing-looking chicken breast lolol. Chicken Breast stuffed with Prawn Mousse and Yorkshire Pudding with Wild Mushroom, Mixed Herbs and Shallot Sauce.

Yes, that's the name of the dish.

Anyway, I'm genuinely surprised by how precisely the chicken breasts are cooked to perfection! A lot of chefs always tend to overcook chicken breasts but the chefs from Across The Road are really dexterous and professional!! Everything is perfect, really.

Sea Bass Roll with Young Asparagus, Cheese Risotto and Spicy Seafood Broth.
I swear that is the best risotto I have ever had!! It's creamy, not too salty, and it tastes even better when dipped with a little of spicy seafood broth. Thumbs up for this!

Tiramisu

Blueberry Cheese Cake
I wonder if they baked this with wine? It tastes very much like red wine but we were told that there's no alcohol involved in all dishes!

CIMG0331
Behind every scrumptious dinner there always stands a good chef. I think they really deserved the "Top Chefs Award"!! Thank you for the amazing food!!!

With all the fun people! There isn't such a thing as "socially awkward" among all of us!

Last but not least, thank you VibeHero for the invitation! Without them, I would not be able to discover this awesome restaurant and of course, the unparalleled quality of their delicacies! That was one of the most filling, ornate and satisfying dinners I have ever had. I'm nothing but a blessed kid. ♥

I'm sure many of you would like to pay a visit to Across The Road after my review! I have not exaggerated in any part of the post and the restaurant is really worth visiting! Who knows it might turn out to be your favorite hangout spot after your first visit?
