Hello bunnies!!!! I'm back from my 5D4N trip in Hong Kong!!!
It has been 4 YEARS since I last travelled abroad. I've always wanted to revisit Hong Kong since the last trip but a while ago, I had been so caught up with my work and studies.
The idea of travelling to Hong Kong came spontaneously to me when I was browsing my old photos of the previous HK trip. After so many years, I felt the need to go travelling again: to explore the world, to try something new and to get inspired by the people of a different culture.
Since I'm temporarily free from my studies (currently having my semester break), I decided to fully utilise my holiday by realising the dream I always had - that is to go travelling!
My family reacted very supportively. I mean, who doesn't enjoy travelling? They took a few days off from work and joined in the force muahahaha.
Sometimes, perhaps all we need is just a break from the hustle and bustle in our life, to enjoy new experiences and to get new perspectives on what really matters to us.

This time around, I was entrusted to be the planner of the trip. I really have to thank my family for trusting a clumsy bear like me haha! Anyway, I did the booking of the flight tickets (from Airasia) and the hotel (from Agoda) all by myself. Everything went swimmingly so I guess I am a fairly good planner hehehe!
Anyway, here are some tips for those who intend to travel to Hong Kong:So here we go!
- Check the weather forecast before you decide on the traveling date
- Bring appropriate garments which suit the weather of the country (you wouldn't want to wear a winter jacket during summer right?)
- Bring 2 pairs of comfortable shoes (you know..just in case one of your shoes get drenched, you still have another one as backup)
- Prepare a traveling essentials checklist a week before you travel
- Plan a itinerary (So that you have a proper schedule to save your time!)
- Do research on where the tourist spots are
- Pick a hotel which is situated nearby the MTR station (Very important!!!)
- Allocate extra $$$ for emergency purposes (because sometimes you'll be required to pay deposit for hotel reservation / MTR card)
- Understand the Hong Kong MTR map (it will save you a lot of time and also make it easier for you to travel around HK)
When: 10.08.2014
Where: Airport, One Piece Exhibition in HK Times Square, etc
We woke up at 3am to get ourselves prepared and then headed to the airport at 4am (the time of our departure was at 7.15am). Despite the early flight, we felt super energetic and excited for the slowly unfolding trip!

Had a light breakfast before we fly off to HK!

Wore my boyfriend jeans and New Balance because they look good together hehehe :P

While waiting to board..

Through the windows, I can see a land of fluffy clouds. The scenery was so beautiful that I felt as if I was in a dreamland.

After a four-hour-long flight, we landed safely in Hong Kong whee!!

My brother joined the force too!

We bought the MTR pass in the airport. This is known as the Airport Express Pass - which sends us from the airport to the city (HK station) in only 24 minutes. It's extremely fast and the seats are very comfortable!

Hello Hong Kong~!

The Metropark Hotel is located in Tung Lo Wan road and it's situated nearby the Tin Hau MTR station!

The weather was really humid so I slipped out of my jeans and threw on a pair of shorts.

Had a veggie platter in a veggie shop located nearby our hotel.

While walking to the MTR station, we passed by a bakery which sells oven-fresh pastries! The egg tarts were damn delicious!!!!

One of the reasons I love traveling to Hong Kong is due to the extreme convenience and efficiency of their public transport, a.k.a the MTR! Getting around in Hong Kong couldn't get any easier with the MTR system!!
Tips: Buy the Octopus Card (八达通) for only 150HKD, it grants you access to all the major districts in Hong Kong. Besides, the Octopus Card can also be used to make purchases in convenient stores, fast-food restaurants, supermarkets, and more!

We visited Times Square 时代广场 in Causeway Bay and opted for Crystal Jade Restaurant for lunch.

Shanghai Ramen. (葱油拉面)Super yummy!!

Shanghai's fried rice - sounds pretty simple, but doesn't taste simple at all!!

Chao Nian Gao with veggie. (Chinese sticky rice cake)

My favourite Shanghai Xiao Long Bao!!! (上海小笼包)

Grilled spring pigeon. (烧乳鸽)

Aape by Bathing Ape.
I felt like buying everything in this store!!

We were lucky enough to catch the One Piece's exhibition in Times Square!

An 11-meter-high model of “Thousand Sunny,” the Straw Hat Crew’s current ship is presented at the piazza, allowing visitors to go on board and take photos!

CHOPPER!! SO ADORABLE!!!

People everywhere.

The two kids trying so hard to be in my every photo of this robot.

You'll also find this eight-meter-high model of the first Straw Hat Pirates ship hanging in Times Square!

SIX FLOORS of Forever 21's goodness!!

Had our dinner at a random food stall nearby Times Square (大排档)!
That's a wrap for our first day in Hong Kong!!!
