Headquartered in Orlando, Red Lobster is finally here in Malaysia! It has more than 700 branches in North America, Canada, South America, the Middle East and Japan. (Wow, that's such a huge number, isn't it?)
Lighting is bad for selfies...*hmmph*
We ordered 2 same sets of dinner (because there were 8 of us and one set wouldn't suffice). Each set consists of 2 appetisers, 3 main courses and 2 desserts. The price for each set is approximately RM347 if I'd not been mistaken.
I love these buns so much. They are warm, crumbly, buttery and taste super good to me haha!
Sadly, they are not as good as what I expected. The portion is pretty big, the mussels are fresh but they are TOO SALTY.
Just something light to tame our hungry angry tummy before the main courses are served! There's nothing really special to shout about this dish lol.
Main course #1 Mackerel Fish served with Roasted Potatoes
Though the flesh was pretty firm, this dish is just not my thing because it had quite a strong fishy smell, and the taste was pretty mild. However, I would say that the roasted potatoes were brilliantly cooked. It tasted so yummy with butter and cream!! Dear roasted potatoes, you totally saved the dish!!
Main course #2 Grilled Lobsters, shrimps and scallops
Woohoo, for those who enjoy seafood, like me, this will be a plate of paradise to you!
The grilled lobsters were just nice and not overcooked, the flesh was fresh and firm as if I was biting on something bouncy! (Yums!)
Main course #3 Bar Harbour Lobster Bake
Consisting of mussels, shrimps, scallops, grilled lobster tail and pasta, this dish is meant to be shared. The pasta was rather disappointing: instead of bland, unflavoured can better describe its taste. But well, considering the fact that Red Lobster is "majoring" in lobsters, I would say that the pasta was passable. The dish was fortunately rescued by the seafood! Mussels tasted better here (probably because they were cooked in a different way) and the lobster tail was oh-my-god.
xxx Forgot to take pictures of the desserts because I was too busy taking pictures of the birthday girl lolol. I sincerely apologize for that! Our desserts were cheese cake and apple crumble by the way xxx
The birthday girl~!
And guess what?! We got her a customised Pikachu birthday cake because she's a big fan of Pikachu! She was really surprised when the waiter served the cake as we sang the birthday song along. Just in case you are wondering, this customised cake was made by Lucy from Twenty First Qi Pastries! I just told her I wanted a "Pikachu cake" and she designed everything for me!!! It was such a surprise for me because I'd never expected that she would make a 3D Pikachu!!
In overall, I think Red Lobster is worth a try for those who live for seafood haha! Not forgetting to mention, the waiters are pretty attentive and friendly too. Hopefully, they will improve and enhance the quality of their food so that they are, at the utmost least, worthy of the prices they cost.
