10 (unfair) REASONS WHY THE SONY WX500 IS AWESOME

I often get emails / fb messages regarding the camera that I use to take pictures for my blog. Often, such questions are asked: "Which camera will you recommend for daily use?" "Which camera do you use for photoshoots?" "Which camera is better?" etc.

So, I thought I would answer all your questions and share more about what I know with y'all here today!

Okay firstly, here's a list of the cameras that I own, and each of them plays some quite distinct roles for me:
Canon EOS 550D (for ootd photoshoots)
Casio TR150 (for selfies)
Panasonic Lumix GF6 (for events, traveling, etc)
Sony WX500 (for daily use, selfies, vlogging, events, traveling, etc)

Since I've blogged about both the Casio TR150 and Panasonic Lumix GF6 in detailed before, we won't be talking about those today. But if you're interested, feel free to read my take of their respective reviews!

Here in this post, I'm going to write about the Sony WX500, a freshly launched Sony Cybershot model.

I'm not sure if y'all remember, but I did write an "unboxing" post of this camera before. Today, we're gonna dive right through its skin and flesh! :)

Instead of bombarding you with all the technical terms about the specifications of the camera (which I don't even know myself), I'll just tell you 10 reasons I think this is a good camera!

1. PORTABILITY

The Sony WX500 is SUPER portable. I love the fact that it only weighs 236g, which means carrying it all day long is not a big deal AT-ALL. With a chassis even smaller than the general smartphones, this camera is a well-fitted sidekick while attending outings or events. It easily fits perfectly in any bag -  which doesn't even have to be roomy. I can simply slide the camera into my bag and still throw in plenty of other stuffs into the remaining space.

2. 30X OPTICAL ZOOM

You read that right. 30x optical zoom.

A mind-blowing testament of this camera, which truly belies its size. Sony claims that it is the world's smallest camera which boasts the ability of 30x optical zoom, bringing distant subjects up close - without any compromise of quality. With the 30x optical zoom, I'm able to capture closer shots of people or subjects clearly. I can finally be a little or  totally not bothered about the distance from me and eye candies HAHAHA (just kidding I don't stalk!!) The pictures above were taken by my trusty Sony WX500 in a LANEIGE event that I've attended last week!

3. SOFT-SKIN MODE

I guess this is one of the major reasons why I personally L-O-V-E this camera. Its soft-skin mode enhances your beauty with no unwanted exaggeration - giving you a naturally gorgeous complexion. Not a single stain of over-photoshopping hehe! :P

4. FULL HD VIDEO RECORDING
I've tried their video shooting mode, and I have to say that I am really, really pleased!! While its humble size may not seem as capable, you can actually shoot videos at full HD quality with a stunning 1920x1080 resolution. Check out this vlog recorded by this camera to witness its prowess!

5. BUILT-IN WIFI
IMG_4857
Cameras without wifi accessibility is sooooo behind the times. The built-in wifi adapter allows you to instantly transfer pictures from the camera to your smartphone within a few clicks. Know what that means? YAS. HD PHOTOS IN INSTAGRAM WITHIN A SNAP. MUAHAHAHA! And most importantly, its wifi-sharing function isn't costly for the camera's battery life, which is awesome!!

6. 180° TILTABLE LCD SCREEN
IMG_4849
This is extremely important for selfie lovers okay!!! With the flippable screen, now you are able to take selfies at angles of Everest-high precision. Although Sony decided to do away with a viewfinder, its screen's functionalities can definitely make up for the tradeoff. You can still switch to your preferred mode/effect even when your screen is flipped up! I really wish this awesome screen is touch-screen able though, but I guess that would make it all the more pricey haha! Well, I can live with making a few more clicks in trade of performance upgrades hehe :p

7. BUILT-IN POP UP FLASH

Surprise!! There's also a built-in pop up flash in this camera - despite its size. Handy enough?

8. SUSTAINABLE BATTERY LIFE
IMG_4866
Don't you just hate gadgets that run out of battery like water in the Sahara?!
Don't you just hate that you have to bring an external battery with you everywhere you go?! Don't you just......
No, don't worry peeps! This camera has a high-performance battery which can probably outlast you in virtually any shooting marathon. Expect to capture up to 400 photos at a single charge!

9. PICTURE EFFECTS

Not only you can manually adjust the brightness, vividness and colour balance according to your preference, this camera is also equipped with a lot of interesting picture effects that help you to capture shots just the way you envision. My favourite effect is definitely the Toy Camera, and all the pictures in THIS post were taken by this effect!!

10. AFFORDABILITY

Don't worry, it won't cost you an arm and a leg for this awesome camera. In fact, it only costs RM1,199, which I think is relatively very affordable for a camera of its tier! While it may not be the most affordable camera in the market, I can boldly say that this model definitely strikes the perfect price-performance balance. Certainly the best bang for the buck!

I've been using this camera for quite some time now, and it is definitely my go-to camera for everyday usage! If you are interested to see more pictures taken by this camera, feel free to check out more shots in the following links:

  3. In the first place, when advanced cameras initially wound up plainly well known, something many refer to as Lag Time was a noteworthy issue. The "slack" in the middle of the time you tapped the shade catch and the time the screen opened was extremely self-evident. With the current advances in innovation there has been a critical lessening in slack time what camera does markiplier use.
