I have way too many friends who were born in October. I have attended a few birthday parties this month, but the most memorable one would be Coey's birthday as I was the birthday planner hehehe.
Coey and I knew each other since 2 years ago in college, and she is one of my closest friends! Although we are taking different majors now, it did not affect our friendship and we still find time to hang out with each other! I really cherish our friendship a lot!
A few weeks ago before her birthday, I had brunch with her and she was telling me about what she was planning for her 21st birthday (like what kind of theme she wanted it her party to be). She told me that she wanted a "princess-y, laced" themed party and I told her that I looked forward to attending her party.
It turned out that she did not throw a party in the end because she couldn't find a venue and she was too busy with her assignments.
That's when I thought of giving her a surprise by organising a mini birthday party for her. I told her that I wanted to treat her a dinner, but I secretly whatsapp-ed the rest of the gang to come and give her a surprise as well.
So I booked a table in Leonardo's Bangsar, ordered some of the basic-21st-birthday-celebration-essentials: A customised cake, birthday balloons and a bouquet of roses for her the week before the dinner!!
'Hilary' Flower Box from BloomThis - The pink and champagne-coloured roses are so elegant and beautiful!! Even I myself felt happy by just looking at it.
It's my first time ordering from them and I love their efficient service!!
Customised balloons from S&D Balloon! They specialise in customising balloons and I realise that their pricing is relatively cheap than other balloon stores!!
Customised birthday cake from 21st Qi Pastries! When we surprised her with the cake, she kept saying that this is her "dream cake"! I was so glad that she loves it, and thanks to 21st Qi Pastries for designing it specially for Coey!! I just told them I wanted the cake to look princess-y, and then taadaaa, they did the rest!
The smile on her face was priceless! It made me so happy to see her happy!
Pork Knuckle Platter (meant for sharing) - A signature dish in Leonardo's
Barbequed Pork Ribs served with garden vegetables and roasted chat potatoes
Spaghetti Prawn Bisque
Grilled Sakura Pork Shoulder Loin with truffle mash, herb butter. It didn't really look appealing to me, but it tasted superb!!! Definitely worth the money!!!
Ranjit's Pasta with mushrooms, bacon and garlic
Grilled Pork Chorizo Sausage served with potato rosti and topped with apple chutney.
Happy birthday to our princess! Thanks to everyone who showed up too!!
